Ditch Witch MT164 Helps Boost Productivity, Reduce Costs

Built to help power and fiber-optic contractors easily create a clean, narrow trench in one pass, the new Ditch Witch MT164 microtrencher attachment offers maximum compact cable installation performance.

Equipped with a standard hydraulic plunge and option to offset the frame, MT164 provides variable depth control and gives contractors the ability to cut right up next to a curb, increasing productivity.

MT164 can trench up to 2 inches wide by 16 inches deep, allowing crews to cut deep enough to get through a standard-sized curb. It can also be set up for a push or pull application depending on the jobsite.

The microtrencher’s compact footprint provides operators increased flexibility with minimal disruption to surrounding infrastructure in urban areas. Additionally, contractors can more easily cross-cut roads, trenching from curb to curb.

The MT164 is part of a complete microtrenching system that includes a construction-grade lineup of the Ditch Witch SK3000 stand-on skid steer and HX75 vacuum excavator. UC

Yanmar CE Maintenance Kits Offer Simple, Convenient Services

Available for all current and many legacy models, Yanmar Compact Equipment maintenance kits come personalized with items such as filters and fluids for its mini excavators, wheel loaders and tracked carriers. All included components are genuine Yanmar OEM parts, ensuring customers can achieve the best-possible machine performance and longevity.

The kits provide customers the option to buy a single box from their Yanmar CE dealer, rather than spending time trying to find individual filters and fluids separately. This minimizes downtimes and allows operators to get back to work faster.

Yanmar offers maintenance kits with and without oil for each model. Each kit is based on what the machine’s manual recommends for a particular unit, with variations on hydraulic service, filters and fluids. Included components are not only guaranteed to fit, but they are also tested and recommended by Yanmar for maximum performance and machine life.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for Yanmar Compact Equipment operators to keep their equipment running smoothly through routine maintenance,” said Jeff Pate, director of sales for Yanmar Compact Equipment North America.

“These maintenance kits not only provide a convenient option to help customers keep up with service intervals, the use of OEM parts can also reduce the life cycle cost of the equipment.” UC

CASE Launches Industry-First Compact Dozer Loader

Weighing in at more than 18,000 pounds and working with 114 horsepower, the new first-of-its-kind Minotaur DL550 delivers true dozing and grading performance, as well as powerful site loading capabilities and compatibility with hundreds of attachments.

A single platform has never delivered this level of versatility, power and precision – all culminating in an entirely new product category created by CASE: the compact dozer loader.

The hallmark advancement is the chassis-integrated C-frame with 90- or 96-inch six-way blade – the same blade featured on the CASE 650M dozer – that gives the operator a full range of dozer control and movements.

The C-frame hydraulically couples into both the machine chassis and the attachment coupler. This design provides the stability and smooth operating plane of a small dozer while delivering responsiveness like full-sized CASE dozers. As a result, it offers greater performance and long-term reliability than the simple combination of a dozer blade attachment to a traditional compact track loader.

It also comes standard with CASE Universal Machine Control, making it ready for any of the major three providers of machine control technology – Leica Geosystem, Topcon and Trimble – which are sold separately.

Built on a dozer-style undercarriage and pushing with more than 25,000 pounds of drawbar pull, the CASE Minotaur DL550 delivers true dozing power and performance. The machine is available with three different track options to meet operator preference and job-site profiles: 14-inch single-grouser steel tracks, 18-inch triple-grouser steel tracks, and 17.7-inch rubber tracks

In its loader configuration, DL550 features a 5,500-pound rated operating capacity (50 percent of tipping load) with 12,907 pounds of breakout force. Advanced electro-hydraulic control capabilities allow operators to easily dial in total machine responsiveness to low, moderate or aggressive; or independently set tilt, lift and drive speed, as well as loader arm and drive control to best meet the demands of the work.

“Business owners and fleet managers looking for a compact solution that delivers countless benefits in a single footprint will immediately see the versatility this exciting new machine brings to their fleets,” said Jeff Jacobsmeyer, product manager, CASE, “and will quickly understand what a ‘compact dozer loader’ is capable of accomplishing.”

United Rentals’ Total Control Emissions Tracking Helps Sustainability Strategies

United Rentals Inc. launched a new data-driven solution in its cloud-based Total Control fleet management platform.

Total Control Emissions Tracking is designed to help customers measure and evaluate the environmental footprint of their rental equipment. It provides insights that can lead customers to informed decision-making on how they can make fleet and utilization changes to decrease equipment emissions.

The digital solution captures telematics-based equipment engine time usage data, fuel type, and more. It uses published emission factors to estimate GHG and source pollutant emissions, such as nitrous oxides, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter, which customers are then encouraged to verify for compliance reporting purposes. Ultimately, it can help companies advance their sustainability strategies. UC
