S&N Communications Awarded a New Large Project Locating Contract

S&N Communications, a company specializing in locating, utilities and infrastructure construction, was awarded a new large project locating contract with AGL Resources, the parent company of Virginia Natural Gas; the project comprises underground utility locating in Georgia with work that was set to commence in February of this year.

S&N garnered the attention of AGL after reducing damages for Virginia Natural Gas to their lowest levels, historically, which made them a prime contender for the Georgia contract during the initial bidding process, said Tommy Graham, director of asset protection and operations process support at AGL.

“Based on excellent caliber of work and performance over the last several years, choosing S&N was a good business decision,” added Graham.

According to Allen Powell, S&N CEO and president, the budding company trains their employees extensively, possibly more than any other business in the industry. Awarding S&N with the Georgia locating project is a testament to AGL’s recognition of the value brought to a large-scale project by employees well-trained in technique and safety, said Powell.

To gear up for the project, S&N began the recruiting process early this year, expecting to hire more than 100 new employees over the course of the contract.
