Trenchless Technology Center to Host a Virtual Municipal Forum
The Trenchless Technology Center (TTC) will be hosting a trenchless technology virtual forum on March 3 from 10 a.m. to noon.
During the pandemic, the Trenchless Technology Center (TTC) at Louisiana Tech University has been offering virtual training in place of its in-person Municipal Forums on Trenchless Technology.
The TTC Municipal Forum program has been in place for more than 20 years, offering training primarily to municipal and consulting engineers at their local offices in over 50 locations across North America.
To-date, more than 200 forums have been held in person (roughly 10 per year), but the pandemic has forced the TTC to rethink its training and the results have been very successful. Since the Spring, the TTC has offered several virtual forums in two-hour blocks focused on specific topics of the trenchless industry. Each forum has two or three nationally recognized speakers and includes an open question and answer portion for all attendees to interact.
Attendance at the virtual forums is low cost, $25, and each attendee can earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) if needed for their attendance. Although we hope to start doing in-person training later in 2021, there are many upcoming virtual forums. Also, for those unable to attend the live events, virtual forums are also being recorded for future viewing.
If you would like gain access to any of the recorded forums, please visit the TTC website or contact Dr. Matthews for more information. As always, if you are interested in hosting, having specific topics included in program, or would like to present at any of the forums, please contact TTC Director, Dr. John Matthews at matthews@latech.edu.
