Vermeer expands global lineup with Tecniwell high-pressure HDD pumps

PELLA, Iowa (UI) — Vermeer has expanded its global partnership with Italy-based Tecniwell s.r.l. to offer high-pressure pump systems through its worldwide dealer network, according to a company announcement on Dec. 3.

The agreement builds on an existing collaboration in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region and now makes Tecniwell’s HDD pump packages exclusively available through Vermeer distributors globally. The expansion strengthens Vermeer’s offering for horizontal directional drilling (HDD) contractors, who can now access drills, reclaimers and high-pressure pumps as a complete equipment package.

"Expanding this partnership allows us to offer a more complete equipment solution to pipeline contractors globally," said Benny Melse, product manager for Vermeer. "Tecniwell has a proven track record of producing robust, high-performance pumps. By pairing their pumps with Vermeer drills and reclaimers, our dealers can provide customers with a packaged solution backed by the localized service and support they expect."

The launch lineup includes the Tecniwell HDD 1500 and HDD 2500 high-flow triplex mud pumps. The HDD 2500 delivers up to 754 gallons per minute at 1,400 psi, while the smaller HDD 1500 reaches 322 gallons per minute at up to 1,450 psi. Both models are available with diesel or electric configurations to meet regional standards.

Tecniwell brings nearly four decades of pump engineering experience in high-demand applications like jet grouting, now tailored for HDD operations.

"Vermeer is a leader in the HDD industry, and we are excited to grow our partnership with their extensive global dealer network," said Paolo Ferrari, sales manager at Tecniwell. "This alliance allows us to bring our specialized HDD pump packages to a wider market, helping contractors work more efficiently."

The products, manufactured at Tecniwell’s Italian facility, will feature Vermeer’s signature yellow-and-black design. Each pump includes a standard one-year, 1,800-hour warranty and an extended three-year, 6,000-hour warranty for the triplex pump body.
