Company Using AI to Assess Conditions of Water Mains to Participate in Imagine H2O's 2018 Accelerator

Fracta Inc., a company tapplying Artificial Intelligence (AI) – Machine Learning to drinking water utility infrastructure, has been selected as a participant in Imagine H2O’s 2018 Accelerator. Fracta is one of 13 water startups selected to the exclusive 2018 program.

Fracta offers a SaaS solution that uses AI-Machine Learning to assess the condition of drinking water distribution mains. Fracta calculates and visualizes the Likelihood of Failure (LOF) for every water main pipe segment. The LOF score represents the mathematical probability of pipe failure, enabling utilities to make smarter pipe replacement decisions. Fracta’s objective, big data-driven method is faster, more accurate and affordable than other desktop and physical condition assessment methods.

“Fracta has made exciting strides in the key area of utility management,” says Tom Ferguson, VP Programming of Imagine H2O. “The potential ROI to managers is highly compelling, and their early traction in the market reflects the importance of the main point they’re addressing. We’re excited to have them as part of the 2018 Accelerator.”

As a selected participant, Fracta will be honored at Imagine H2O’s WaterGala 2018 on March 14 in San Francisco. They also will begin a 10-month program that includes access to customer validation opportunities, mentorship and industry visibility.

“We are truly honored to be chosen as one of Imagine H2O’s 2018 Accelerator participants,” says Takashi Kato, co-founder and CEO of Fracta. “We are excited to help public and investor-owned water utilities optimize their infrastructure spend and reduce water loss, one of our most precious natural resources.”
