New Jersey American Water Investing in New Main Installation Project
New Jersey American Water will invest approximately $800,000 to install new water mains along North Avenue from Forest Road to Morse Avenue in Fanwood. The project includes the installation of approximately 2,720 feet of new 12-inch ductile iron pipes to replace aging pipes, as well as 55 utility-owned service lines and two new fire hydrants along the pipeline route.
“This project represents a critical investment in support of our multimillion dollar commitment to replace aging infrastructure in order to continue provide customers with safe, reliable water service,” said Bob Schaefer, Senior Director of Operations for New Jersey American Water’s Central Region.
Construction will begin the week of January 30, and will be performed on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Work on weekends and evenings is not expected unless required to maintain the project schedule. Weather permitting, the project should be completed by the end of April. Final paving and restoration will be completed in the fall of 2017.
