Vortex Receives WRc Approval for VeriCure; Introduces United Felts

Vortex Technology Group LLC, a division of Vortex Companies, received WRc-Approved certification for its VeriCure Cured-In-Place Pipe (CIPP) monitoring system used to improve and verify cure completeness of the widely popular pipe rehabilitation method.

"VeriCure has proven to be an extremely effective means of monitoring CIPP cure completeness and improving installation quality in the U.S.," said Mike Vellano, CEO of Vortex Companies. "Receipt of WRc approval is a critical step for its expansion in the UK and other countries, where WRc sets the benchmark for quality.”

VeriCure CMS is a patented system, built around fiber optic distributed temperature sensing (DTS) technology, and is designed to improve the CIPP curing process. VeriCure's optical fiber cable is fed the invert of the host pipe, or attached to the crown, in pipes 1,500 mm and greater.

Once the CIPP liner has been installed and inflated inside the host pipe, the curing process is initiated. With the optical fiber cable connected to the CMS control unit, VeriCure software continuously records the temperature profile along the length of the curing lining. It is compatible with circular pipes of 150-millimeter to 2,000-millimeter internal diameter.

In other news, Vortex Companies created United Felts, the rebranding of its Applied Felts Inc., FerraTex Solutions and MaxLiner acquisition, as the continuation of a leading supplier of CIPP in the Americas.

"The launch of United Felts marks a pivotal moment in our journey, as we continue to push boundaries and deliver solutions to our customers," said Matt Timberlake, president of the new entity. "United Felts inherits decades of manufacturing experience and innovation to lead the industry, offering unparalleled quality, efficiency and service excellence.”

United Felts will absorb the Applied Felts Inc. and FerraTex Solutions brands, which will be retired over the coming months. The MaxLiner brand will remain intact under the operation of United Felts.

Alongside the launch of United Felts, the company celebrated a manufacturing milestone: its 100,000th liner, representing more than 200 million feet.

Vortex Companies is a leading provider of advanced trenchless water and sewer technologies.
