Perma-Liner Provides Ultimate Fiber-Optic Protection
Perma-Liner Industries LLC., a leading manufacturer and supplier of trenchless pipeline rehabilitation equipment and materials in North America, introduced its newest product. The Manhole Edge Protector (MEP) offers ultimate fiber optic protection and is produced in sizes to accommodate any manhole in the world.
“Our Manhole Edge Protectors are produced in a highly visible safety orange, which helps identify the site and the open manhole eliminating potential hazards,” said Rishi Vasudeva, business excellence manager at Perma-Liner. “The 360-degree edge protection also helps prevent against cuts and bruises to personnel going in and out of the manhole.”
In addition to the safety aspects, MEP is produced using high-quality ABS 3/16 plastic that is highly durable and withstands temperatures from –40 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit (–40.000 to 82.222 degrees Celsius). The material also includes UV protection, which reduces product fading in extreme exposures.
MEP’s 360-degree edge protection eliminates the top-edge roller and top-side tiger tail that have a tendency to allow the cable to slip off the roller and ultimately halt operations. A top flange is designed to eliminate objects and/or equipment from slipping into the manhole.
The additional interior 3.5-inch flange holds back debris and any loose infrastructure from falling into the manhole and causing injury to personnel or damage to equipment. •
