NUCA leadership transition underway as Doug Carlson steps down, Chris Barrett named interim CEO
(UI) — The National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) announced that CEO Doug Carlson has submitted his resignation to the Board of Directors. The organization is beginning a search for a permanent replacement.
Chris Barrett, currently NUCA’s chief operating officer, has been appointed interim CEO. Barrett has served as COO since 2016 and will lead the association during the transition. NUCA expects to name a new CEO by the fall.
“We appreciate Mr. Carlson’s service and dedication to this association and our industry, and we wish him well in all of his future endeavors and goals,” the organization said in a statement.
Barrett brings years of experience to her interim role, having worked closely with NUCA staff, members, and chapter leaders on operational initiatives. NUCA has engaged an executive search firm to assist with the leadership transition.
