Henderson Water Utility begins work to upgrade century-old water and sewer systems
Henderson Water Utility has announced plans to significantly improve local potable water and sanitary sewer systems beginning the week of December 9th.
The project will include the replacement of aging potable water and sanitary sewer mains and service lines along portions of Washington Street, Alvasia Street, and Clay Street. With many of the utility mains installed in the late 1800s, the useful service life is coming to an end.
Deig Brothers Lumber and Construction Company, the project’s contractor, anticipates the completion of the project in August 2025.
Residents and businesses may experience temporary interruptions to their water and sewer services during the improvement project, Henderson Water Utility announced. Construction activity will take place near homes and businesses and temporary disruptions to street access and parking will occur, as well.
The planned upgrades are part of an ongoing commitment to providing high-quality utility services to residents by enhancing service reliability and ensuring the health and safety of the community.
