Worker dies in trench collapse in Cleveland, Tenn.; rescue shifts to recovery

(UI) — On Aug. 22, a construction worker died in a trench collapse in Cleveland, according to Chattanoogan.com.
Emergency responders from the Cleveland Police Department, Cleveland Fire Department, Bradley County Fire Department, and Bradley County EMS arrived at the intersection of Corporate Drive SW and Industrial Drive SW around 1:15 p.m.
Rescue efforts initially focused on locating and retrieving the worker. However, once it was confirmed that the individual was deceased, the operation transitioned to a recovery effort, according to Chattanoogan.com. Fire departments from Cleveland City, Bradley County, and Chattanooga City were involved in the recovery process.
