Pennsylvania utility to upgrade section of sewer line in Turbotville with PVC pipe

(UI) — PA American Water has announced a project to replace a problematic sewer main spanning 450 feet, in Turbotville, Pennsylvania, as reported by the Daily Item. This initiative, commencing this Friday, aims to substitute the unreliable sewer main with PVC, ensuring improved reliability.

Additionally, as part of the project, each sewer lateral will be replaced with PVC material, extending to the tree space. To facilitate the undertaking, clean outs will be added to each lateral, the Daily Item reported.

The project will be conducted on Broadway Street, from Church Street to East Golf Street. Weather permitting, the contractor, Dave Gutelius Excavating, aims to complete the project by the end of August.

Temporary street restoration is slated to be finalized in the fall of 2023, followed by the ultimate restoration in the spring of 2024. Work hours will be between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., with no anticipated weekend or evening work unless necessary to adhere to the project schedule.
