Wint raises $35 million to propel AI-driven leak detection solutions
(UI) — Wint, a 'water intelligence' startup from Israel, has successfully secured $35 million in its recent Series C funding round, according to TechCrunch.
The company, founded in 2011, boasts a cutting-edge water management system that merges AI-driven software with connected hardware to promptly identify and mitigate leaks.
The system offers the option of automatic shutdown upon leak detection. Wint's client base spans various sectors, encompassing facility management, construction, data centers, and enterprises seeking concrete data to reinforce their carbon emission records. Prominent clients include industry giants like Microsoft, Google, Mastercard, HP, and Dell.
Insight Partners, a well-established New York-based investor renowned for backing major players such as Twitter and Shopify, participated in Wint's Series B round last year, contributing $15 million.
Insight Partners has once again joined forces with Czech climate tech fund Inven Capital to co-lead the Series C funding round. Notably, Taronga Ventures also participated.
The funding injection arrives against a backdrop of escalating concerns over global water scarcity, a challenge several startups aim to tackle.
"We’re excited to close this round at a time when water scarcity and climate change are becoming some of humanity’s greatest challenges, while the costs of water leak damage in buildings are reaching unacceptable levels for insurers, owners, developers, and contractors," Alon Geva, CEO of Wint, said in a statement acquired by TechCrunch.
