Advanced Drainage Systems achieves blue level member of Operation Clean Sweep
Advanced Drainage Systems, Inc. (ADS), a leading global manufacturer of water management products announced that it has become a blue level member of Operation Clean Sweep (OCS), the international program to reduce plastic resin loss into the environment. Joining this program is consistent with its core values and leadership in sustainable operations.
“We are honored to be part of this important effort to prevent plastic waste from entering the environment,” said Scott Barbour, president, and CEO of ADS. “This includes all the steps of our manufacturing process and underscores our commitment to best practices in facilities management and operations, including responsible resin handling and pellet containment from raw material delivery, to manufacturer of the finished product.”
“During the past several years we have increased ADS’ commitment to sustainability. Our recently announced 10-year sustainability goals are built around our motto, “Our Reason is Water”. These goals include a commitment to increasing our use of recycled plastic to 1 billion pounds, doubling our consumption over the next ten years.
Being part of Operation Clean Sweep and following its procedures and best management practices, many of which we already have in place will enhance our position as a good steward of responsible plastics usage in the community.”
OCS is a joint program of the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) and the Plastics Division of the American Chemistry Council (ACC) that is designed to strengthen efforts to educate and change behavior in the plastics industry with a goal of zero plastic resin loss.
