Mecalac

Mecalac, a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of compact construction equipment for urban environments, introduced an updated MCR Series of mini excavators – 6MCR, 8MCR and 10MCR – with superior speed, productivity and compact operation.

The new excavators feature a hydrostatic transmission and drive motors strong enough to take on any job. A dedicated pump drives the motor, making the machines capable of speeds up to 6.2 miles per hour (10 kilometers per hour) – twice the speed of traditional mini excavators on the market. This significantly reduces time spent traveling across job sites, resulting in faster cycle times and less unnecessary downtime.

“We designed the new MCR series to go faster than anything else its size because we know time is of the essence on every job site,” said Peter Bigwood, general manager for Mecalac North America. “But speed is only part of the equation when it comes to efficiency,” he added.

In addition to the swiftness of a skid steer, the series offers the 360-degree rotation of an excavator, but better. Featuring Mecalac’s innovative rotating ability, combined with its patented, three-part boom system, adds up to an unparalleled range of motion.

The extended range of movement increases flexibility and reach, while minimizing unnecessary movement, allowing operators to do more from a single position or within confined spaces.

The three-part arm can also be tucked in, even with a full bucket, for extra compactness and mobility without overbalancing the unit in the front and resulting in a true zero-turn radius. In addition, the boom system gives the MCR unprecedented lifting capacities – pound for pound, exceeding anything else on the market.

A range of attachments enables a single MCR unit to easily do the job of several machines. Versatility is further enhanced by the patented quick coupler. CONNECT allows operators to quickly transition between attachments without leaving the cab, decreasing downtime between tasks and increasing overall productivity. And once the pins are engaged, CONNECT guarantees zero risk of dropping a bucket.
