Heather Myers Named Program Manager at NASSCO
The National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO) named Heather Myers to the newly created position of program manager. Partnering with the Infrastructure Assessment and Software Committees, and Training Director Michael Kerr, Myers is responsible for the development, growth and overall management of all current and to-be-developed NASSCO training programs.
“Perhaps the greatest vehicle for accomplishing NASSCO’s mission to set standards for the assessment, maintenance and rehabilitation of underground infrastructure is education,” explained Sheila Joy, NASSCO executive director. “NASSCO training programs have become national standards with the potential to expand internationally. We have also identified many areas to improve the quality of course content, the student experience and ways to add value to the outcomes, which will benefit system owners and communities, alike.”
With 18 years of experience at NASSCO, and specifically as an important part of developing various training programs, Myers “is the perfect candidate,” Joy added. “Heather has been a loyal proponent of NASSCO’s training programs throughout the years and knows the processes used by trainers and students better than anyone else.”
In this new role, Myers works with consultants and other staff members to improve the online training experience, and with Kerr to ensure all training materials are accurate, and to protect the PACP and ITCP brands. She will also oversee processing of CEUs and PDHs, simplify and digitize training materials, explore educational content for future training programs, promote training programs to the industry and be the gatekeeper for opportunities that help achieve NASSCO’s vision.
Previously as operations manager, Myers was responsible for overall management of the NASSCO office, including financial matters. The organization currently seeks a finance manager to take on that important role. •
