TWDBoard Approves $11.5 Million for Water, Wastewater System Projects

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) recently approved financial assistance totaling $11,482,300 for six water and wastewater system projects.

$700,000 in loan forgiveness to the Holiday Beach Water Supply Corporation (Aransas County) for planning, design and construction of a Hurricane Harvey disaster recovery project. The financial assistance will allow replacement of reverse osmosis membranes at the water treatment plant and two high-service pumps, sections of pipeline damaged during recovery and clean-up efforts, the water system storage building, and security fences.

$1,729,300 ($990,000 loan and $739,300 in loan forgiveness) from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) to the City of Ranger (Eastland County) for water system improvements. These include planning, design and construction costs associated with replacing all water meters with an automated meter reading system, and replacing portions of pipeline to help address water loss in the system.

$738,000 ($630,000 loan and $108,000 in loan forgiveness) from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) to the City of Llano (Llano County) for construction costs associated with wastewater system improvements that will allow the city to continue using its irrigation ponds.

$5,005,000 to the Cypress Creek Utility District (Harris County). This includes a $2 million loan from DWSRF to finance planning, design and construction costs associated with pipeline replacement in the water system. A $3 million loan from CWSRF will finance costs associated with wastewater system pipeline improvements.

$3.11 million ($2.8 million loan and $300,000 in loan forgiveness) from DWSRF to the City of Ladonia (Fannin County) for water system improvements. The city will replace approximately 3.5 miles of pipeline, construct a new well house and ground storage tank, and complete other improvements.

$200,000 in loan forgiveness from DWSRF to the Lake Texoma VFW Post 7873 (Grayson County) for planning, design and construction costs associated with water system improvements. VFW will interconnect its water system to the neighboring Ridgecrest water system, and will install meters and enhance the distribution line sizes to accommodate the interconnection.
