Undetected pipeline leakage is one of the most environmentally and financially damaging risks to any oil, gas or water pipeline operator. For this reason, Hawk Measurement developed a state-of-the-art pipeline leak detection system that not only informs about the occurrence of a leak, but gives an accurate location of any potential leakage, allowing for extremely rapid infield assessment and repair.
Utilizing an infield fiber optic system (FOS), Hawk’s novel solution combines multiple measured variables within the one cable, such as sound, temperature and vibration, enabling the system to automatically cross reference and remove false signals.
FOS is a next-generation monitoring system that provides predictive analysis capabilities for better, informed decisions to optimize the service life of pipeline assets. It seamlessly integrates into an existing digital control system or supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and alerts operators through a variety of digital protocols. It can also simply connect a screen, mouse and keyboard to operate and observe the unit directly through the built-in user/machine interface.
