American Polywater Introduces Pipe Joint Lubricant And Fusion Wipes
American Polywater’s (APW) GrandSlam Pipe Joint Lubricant solves the common problems associated with other pipe joint lubricants. It is an odor-free, easy-to-apply, soft paste material that is subaqueous and clings to both wet and dry surfaces on concrete, ductile iron and plastic pipes. It doesn’t wash off, even with flowing water. As a result, pipe joints and gaskets can be properly lubricated, preventing damage from “fish mouthing” during pipe joining.
Another new product, EFW (electro fusion wipe), is a wipe containing fast-evaporating anhydrous isopropyl alcohol, and at the highest content (99.8-percent) in the pipeline industry. This ensures zero residue prior to making pipe connections. These 5- by 8-inch pre-saturated wipes are packaged individually to prevent the dilution of isopropyl alcohol that occurs through the natural absorption of moisture from the air when bulk containers are re-opened.
