LAN Adds Two Key Additions To Stormwater Group
Planning, engineering and program management firm Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam Inc. (LAN) made two key additions to its stormwater group in Houston, TX.
Burton Johnson, P.E., CFM, serves as the director of stormwater programs. A water resources planner and civil engineer, Johnson has more than 28 years of experience leading large-scale flood damage reduction planning studies, watershed studies, and master drainage plans, as well as implementing capital stormwater and flood reduction programs for municipalities throughout Texas.
As infrastructure manager, Brian Reis, P.E., CFM, leads the firm’s stormwater management efforts in Central Texas. With more than 25 years of experience in water resources engineering, his background includes planning, engineering and design, project management and business development.
Two other LAN engineers were appointed as voting members of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), joining an elite panel of experts responsible for providing technical expertise in the development of standards for the water, wastewater and reclaimed water utility industry.
During their two-year tenure as AWWA committee members, Christine Kirby, P.E., and Justin Reeves, P.E., will help maintain and revise standards and manuals related to their respective committees, attend committee annual meetings, and support and articulate the committees’ vision, mission and values.
Kirby will serve on the Ball Valve, Knife Gate Valve, Protective Interior Coatings for Valves and Hydrants committees, while Reeves will serve on the Fiberglass, Weirs, Troughs and Baffles Committee, as well as the Grooved and Shouldered Joint Committee.
Established in 1881, the American Water Works Association is the largest nonprofit, scientific and educational association dedicated to managing and treating water, the world’s most important resource. There are 70 Standards committees, 118 subcommittees and 6 Standards Council Standing Committees.
