FLOWTITE Passes City of Los Angeles’ Pickle Jar Test

FLOWTITE, a fiberglass reinforced pipe (FRP) manufactured by Thompson Pipe Group, proved its durability in chemically harsh conditions by passing the City of Los Angeles’ pickle jar test.

The pickle jar test examines the physical properties of materials used in sewers through the long-term exposure of corrosive agents. In order to be specified for jobs in the city and county, products must pass the tests in a reference guide known as The Greenbook: Standard Plans for Public Works Construction.

The pickle jar test was conducted by RamTech, an independent laboratory sanctioned by the City of Los Angeles, providing third-party confirmation that FLOWTITE withstands the harshest of sewer conditions.

More than 1,500 miles of FLOWTITE FRP is manufactured annually, and nearly 40,000 miles of the product has been installed in gravity and pressure jobs across the globe.

FLOWTITE FRP pipe is a strong, affordable pipe solution, said Ken Thompson, Thompson Pipe Group president. www.flowtitepipe.com.
