USA FIBER Announces dark fiber network in Virginia

President and co-founder of USA Fiber, Judd Carothers, announced that the company would be focusing on building key routes that enable its customers to connect simply and reach their clients, infrastructures or applications with improved speed, latency and uptime – they will hone their focus by building new dark fiber networks on a massive scale.

“I am excited about this next phase for USA FIBER, as we deploy dark fiber assets at scale, enabling even the most demanding applications to get the right network assets, in the right path, to ensure performance and diversity,” Ken Goff, USA FIBER CEO and co-founder, said

Goff added that Ashburn, Va. has been the leading market where the world connects, and the company was proud to deploy an asset to aide in acceleration of the migration of compute to cloud, enabling better performance.

The northern Virginia ring will consist of a seven-mile core data center ring to enable dark fiber connectivity of up to 35 data centers in the immediate area. The network is built to the highest specification for web scale enablement and exists completely underground. With its 864-count fiber rings, this is one of the largest networks built in the markets over two decades – the fiber will also enable next generation network for years to come.

USA FIBER has committed capital and resources in order to continue the network’s expansion and expects announcements of further routes in the near future.
