Discover UCT 2016 in Atlanta!
Smart Business, Premier Exhibits and Top Notch Industry Education
The Underground Construction Technology International Conference & Exhibition (UCT) is moving to downtown Atlanta, GA, Feb. 3-4, 2016. The move brings a new location – the Georgia World Congress Center – new business opportunities and a new educational experience. We’re experimenting with a two-day event to better serve our attendees and exhibitors, and as always, an innovative education
component.
UCT features trenchless and open-cut technologies and brings together companies involved in operational, engineering, construction, rehabilitation, maintenance and services with professionals from every segment of the underground utility pipe industry. These next few months are invaluable for planning and inspiration and put in motion significant steps toward next year’s comprehensive business event.
CUIRE’s Engineering and Inspector Training and Certification Schools kick off the UCT education experience on Monday, Feb. 1 and Tuesday, Feb. 2. NASSCO will offer its PACP Trainer Course on Tuesday, Feb. 2, and the Structural Rehabilitation Design For Sewer & Water Pipes will be held on Tuesday as well. The UCT primary education program will run Wednesday, Feb. 3-Thursday, Feb. 4. There will be nearly 90 seminars offered during the newly formatted two-day UCT program that qualify for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and Professional Development Hours (PDHs) granted by the University of Texas at Arlington. Our committees are diligently working to finalize the educational program.
Registration is scheduled to open next month! Attendees, exhibitors, moderators and speakers may attend the educational program in the morning, and then head to the exhibit hall each afternoon for networking, demonstrations and equipment viewing. And, on Thursday, Feb. 4, the annual reception will be held in the exhibit hall allowing for a more convenient way to network.
Exhibiting companies cover a wide range of categories including: horizontal directional drilling, pipe ramming, piercing tools, open-cut equipment, pipe bursting, microtunneling, CIPP, grout, leak detection, locators, liners, pumps, tools and more. Atlanta is a strong transportation hub and destination. 80 percent of the U.S. population is within a two-hour flight and more than 150 cities offer direct non-stop flights into the Hartsfield-Jackson airport. Additionally, more than 225 world-wide destinations offer non-stop flights into Atlanta. Located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) is a mere 20 minutes from the airport. Atlanta is filled with exciting things to do. Have you heard of The Walking Dead, Anchorman 2 or The Hunger Games: Mockingjay? These, and many others, were filmed in Atlanta and the surrounding areas.
On the next few pages, you’ll get a glimpse of what you can expect at UCT 2016. While technologies may come and go, UCT’s core mission remains the same. To be the business event that you can look forward to attending, where you’ll see the latest equipment and products, and learn about the services that are targeted to meet your challenges.
Until next time,
