Halderman Welcomed Into NASTT Hall of Fame

In front of 350 people, including his family, friends and peers, Ron Halderman accepted his induction into the National American Society for Trenchless Technology (NASTT) Hall of Fame, Class of 2015.

Award presentations were conducted during the NASTT’s No Dig Gala Dinner on Tuesday, March 17, in Denver, Colorado. This prestigious award recognized three individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the advancement of both the trenchless technology industry and the NASTT organization.

Founded in 1990, NASTT formed the Hall of Fame in order to ensure that the Society’s most outstanding and praiseworthy members received due recognition. Members were elected from all five NASTT membership categories: Manufacturers and Suppliers; Engineers and Consultants; Municipal and Utility Employees; Contractors; and Academia.

Industry leaders nominated Ron based on his various contributions including his participation in NASTT educational seminars; numerous industry-related papers written and presented by Ron as well as his innovative, patent-holding procedures currently in use by HDD contractors and consultants throughout the world.

Ron graciously received the award thanking not only the NASTT board and its members, but also his wife, Lynn, for sacrifices made to support his career. He also thanked the founding father of HDD, Martin Cherrington, and brought additional recognition to a person that helped propel the trenchless industry into what it is today, as well as its promising future as a strong and innovative industry.

Mears is privileged to have a person of Ron’s stature in its ranks and is thankful for his innovative and professional approach to many complex projects. He is a wonderful mentor and friend to many. This recognition was very well deserved. It is an example of Mears’ culture of excellence in hiring only the best and most remarkable professionals. Congratulations!
