Kobelco
Kobelco’s SK350LC is a robust 82,200-pound machine powered by a 270 hp., Tier IV Final HINO engine. With a digging force of 50,600 pounds, a digging depth of 24 feet 10 inches, a suggested 0.875-2.75 cubic yard bucket range and a swing speed of 10 rpm., this crawler excavator ensures quick cycle times to keep productivity levels on point regardless of the application. 630.260.4000, kobelco-usa.com
John Deere
Equipped with EPA Interim Tier 4/EU Stage IIIB PowerTech diesel engine, the 210G LC excavator boasts 159 hp. A Powerwise III engine/hydraulic management system offers three productivity modes to allow the operator to select the digging style that fits the job. Generous flow, arm force and swing torque help speed cycles and an easy power-boost button located on the right-hand control is available for tough jobs. A highly efficient, heavy-duty cooling system powers through all jobs, even those in tough environments or high altitudes. 800.503.3373, deere.com
Doosan
The new 318-hp Doosan DX350LC-5 crawler excavator improved in four key areas: fuel efficiency, productivity, operator comfort and durability. The Tier 4-compliant DX350LC-5 features a 10 percent fuel savings from the equivalent Tier 3 model. D-ECOPOWER optimizes hydraulic system output with engine horsepower, improving machine efficiency, productivity and fuel consumption, as well as refines machine control enhancing operator comfort. doosanequipment.com
Volvo Construction Equipment
Powered by a proven Tier 4 Final/Stage IV-compliant Volvo D13 engine, the EC480E delivers high digging and breakout forces alongside reduced emissions and improved fuel efficiency. The integrated work mode system offers the operator a choice of work modes according to the task at hand – including I (Idle), F (Fine), G (General) and H (Heavy) – for optimum efficiency and machine performance. When the controls have been inactive for a pre-set amount of time, the excavator can be programmed to automatically reduce engine speed or even shut down to further reduce fuel consumption and noise. Operators can keep track of both current and average fuel consumption via a simple gauge in the cab. 825.650.2000, volvo.com
Case
The CX700B excavator achieves high performance on the job with the CASE Tier-III certified Isuzu engine. Digging force is increased by 10 percent with the Auto Power Boost feature while overall operation is simplified with three work modes on the right hand console: Automatic, Heavy and Speed Priority. Attachments are easily viewable both overhead and in the in trench thanks to narrow posts on the cab and a one-piece, right-hand window with a clear view to the inside of the right track. 262.636.6011, casece.com
Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas
Hyundai has added three new mid-size excavator models, the R140LC-9A, R160LC-9A and the R180LC-9A, to their 9A series product line. These machines will provide operators with enhanced features and benefits compared to prior models including a certified Tier 4 Interim engine upgrade, improved hydraulics, increased operator comfort and added durability. Hyundai has powered each of these 9A excavators with Tier 4 Interim, turbo-charged Perkins 1204E engines. To further conserve fuel and reduce environmental impact, operators can choose between three unique engine modes – Power, Standard and Economy – which enable the machine to switch between full power mode and two reduced fuel consumption modes according to the user’s preference or machine application. 877.509.2254, hceamericas.com
Caterpillar
The new Cat 336F excavator is built to meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emissions standards, and it comes equipped with several features to enhance fuel efficiency. Electric boom and stick regeneration valves capture and recycle energy, and an engine idle shutdown setting turns the engine off after a specified amount of idle time. Additionally, the operator can reduce engine speed to idle with the touch of a button to help save fuel, plus an economy power mode helps the operator manage and conserve fuel. LINK technologies such as Product Link assists fleet owners in managing equipment by tracking information—fuel usage, productivity, idle time, and diagnostic codes—which is then shared through the VisionLink interface. Optional GRADE technologies, such as Cat Grade Control Depth and Slope, help operators work more productively and accurately with less rework. The factory-integrated system displays real-time positioning and cut-and-fill data on the standard cab monitor. cat.com/requestCatinfo
