Hobas Continues To Invest In The Future

To further meet customers’ needs Hobas Pipe USA recent investments include expansion of capacity as well as upgrades to equipment improving both process and product.

One such investment allows for more precise cutting of CCFRPM fittings, is a new custom manufactured water jet saw. “This fully automated cutter not only produces perfectly cut pipes, but does so quickly and in a more environmentally friendly manner. Since cutting is done in a wet environment, no dust is generated as with past methods,” stated Joe Moles, production manager.

Arturo Guerrero, engineering associate and senior designer for Hobas explained, “Hobas offers a full line of fiberglass pipes and fittings for many applications and installation methods. Hobas fittings are custom designed and manufactured to exact specifications. Using Hobas CCFRPM pipe, we can fabricate a wide range of fittings such as T-base manholes, elbows and reducers.

“A member of the Hobas engineering department produces the design drawing for the fitting based on project requirements. This is done in a program called Inventor, developed by Autodesk. The program is 3D mechanical CAD software. The data from this software is then uploaded into the water jet program that transposes the data into the necessary code. This water jet machine is then run by a computer-controlled program that cuts the pipe to the appropriate dimensions.” 800.856.7473, hobaspipe.com
