Williams Partners to expand Transco pipeline

Williams Partners LP, a Tulsa, OK-based company, announced recently that it has filed a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission application to expand its Transco natural gas pipeline for growing markets in northern Pennsylvania and along its main line from New Jersey through Alabama.

The plan is to expand the pipeline by 520,000 dekatherms of natural gas a day, which would serve two million households along the Atlantic seaboard and the Southeast, the company said.

If the $610 million, 30-mile pipeline expansion were approved by the agency, construction would start next fall with a completion date set for late 2015. Williams Partners said the project is fully subscribed by shippers with long-term contracts.
