TT Technologies
The compact design of the Grundodrill 4X makes it an ideal choice for residential service and “last mile” operations. The drill offers 9,800 pounds of thrust and pullback and features a dual hydrostatic pump system and a four-auger stake down system that provides greater stability. The Grundodrill 4X also comes with the exclusive Smart Vice system that performs vice cycling operations automatically. The 4X’s special steel track with bonded rubber pads offers excellent traction and durability while minimizing potential damage to concrete and turf. An integral braking system adds safety to every job. 800.533.2078, tttechnologies.com
Barbco
Barboc introduces their new compact directional drill line. These high performance drills are built heavy to withstand the toughest shots. They deliver the most horsepower in their class with simple operator-friendly controls. Key features include a climate controlled cab, an automatic rod loader, large fluid pumps, auto steer and auto ream drilling cycles and more. 800.448.8934, barbco.com
American Augers
Directional Drill 1100 Rapid Setup (DD-1100RS) with optional rod-loader is the latest concept from American Augers. Maxi-Rig Rapid Setup is engineered to solve the issue of positioning large equipment quickly and easily. The American Augers Rapid Setup consists of very few steps: (1) positioning the front and rear foot; (2) positioning the rig at the jobsite; (3) lowering the arms to the rear foot; (4) moving the dolly; (5) disconnecting the tractor; (6) raising the rig; and (7) inserting pins at two different angles to complete the rapid setup. 800.324.4930, americanaugers.com
Vermeer
Loaded with many intelligent features on a compact frame, the D16x20 Series II is powered by a 65-hp Kubota diesel Tier 4i engine, giving you 2,000 foot-pounds of rotational torque and 16,000 pounds of thrust/pullback. The onboard pump provides high flow in large-diameter bores for more efficient backreaming. 888.837.6337, vermeer.com
Astec Underground
The Astec EarthPro Series DD-2024 provides 20,000 pounds of thrust/pullback force with the capability of up to 2,400 foot-pounds of rotary torque. The maximum rotary speed can reach up to 200 rpm. The drill weighs 10,500 pounds, and is 207 inches long by 51.5 inches wide. The DD-2024 is powered by an 85-hp Cummins turbocharged diesel engine. It also has an onboard Triplex mud pump that can produce up to 30 gallons per minute at up to 1500 psi. This drill also boasts the field-proven Quad rack-and-pinion carriage drive and a floating carriage that is capable of two speeds, including a 120 ft/min fast mode for adding and removing rods. 800.527.6020, astecunderground.com
Ditch Witch
With 100,000 pounds of pullback and 12,000 foot-pounds of torque, the JT100 All Terrain is built for extended-range bores and installations of large-diameter pipe. The machine’s 268-hp engine delivers more raw power more efficiently to all machine functions so the installation can be completed faster. And with its exclusive, patented two-pipe drilling system, the JT100 All Terrain can install pipe in most ground formations, including solid rock. A mechanical motor system transfers more power to the bit and its unique shaft-within-a-pipe design features a strong, hex-shaped rod that turns inside an outer pipe. The inner hex shaft works as a mechanical motor that drives the bit during the bore; the outer pipe thrusts the bit forward, steers the drill string, and works to transmit full machine torque during backreaming. 800.654.6481, ditchwitch.com
