Tulsa Pipeline Expo: Success For 4 Consecutive Years
The fourth annual Tulsa Pipeline Expo (TPE) wrapped up in late August and event coordinators are already looking forward to number five. Over 150 exhibitors from across Oklahoma converged on Tulsa to display their wares and network with others in the energy industry.
The three-day event included a golf-outing and baseball game on the first day; trade show, banquet and casino night on day two; and finished up the conference with informative presentations from advocates for the energy industry on the third day.
The Tulsa Pipeline Expo is the brainchild of Vacuworx Global, the industry innovator in vacuum-lifting technology. A group of leaders within the organization got together and identified a need to bring clients from all facets of the energy industry together and show them what Oklahoma manufacturing and service companies have to offer. The event also focuses on current market trends, groundbreaking technology and the economy. Since its inception in 2009, the Tulsa Pipeline Expo has experienced solid growth each year.
Bill Solomon, chairman of the Tulsa Pipeline Expo, explains that their success has everything to do with support from folks in the industry. “Thanks to their continued efforts and involvement, the Tulsa Pipeline Expo has quickly become one of the premiere events in the industry,” he explains. “Our objectives are to educate the marketplace and complement regional initiatives to improve our industry.”
Being a hotbed for oil, gas, and pipeline work, it is fitting that the event is held in Tulsa, OK. “Tulsa was known as the Oil Capitol of the World for decades,” states Shawn Lowman, president of the Tulsa Pipeline Expo. “There are still over 1,000 companies in the Greater Tulsa area alone that somehow impact the energy market. Some of the biggest names in the business have their corporate headquarters right here in Tulsa.”
“Oklahoma has the manufacturing, production, processing, services and distribution resources to meet the needs of the energy markets,” says Solomon. “The Expo provides the opportunity to meet many of these companies in one place.” Equally fitting is the fact that Tulsa is where Vacuworx Global calls home. Because of these factors, the Tulsa Pipeline Expo has a strong emphasis on promoting state and regional businesses.
TPE organizers look forward to continuing the momentum for the Fifth Annual Tulsa Pipeline Expo. “Look for a name change in the coming months for the event,” states Lowman. “We are trying to expand our event to go beyond just oil and gas, or pipeline. The true focus of the event is the entire energy sector and we are looking for a name that better suits our mission.”
