Columbia Gas plans spring line replacement through Upper Arlington, Ohio
(UI) — Columbia Gas will begin replacing aging high-pressure pipelines in Upper Arlington next spring as part of a regional safety upgrade, the utility told city officials.
The first phase, scheduled to start in Spring 2025, calls for installing 12-, 16- and 20-inch steel mains equipped with modern safety valves. The new lines will serve a broad area beyond city limits.
Crews will enter Upper Arlington at Zollinger Road near Ohio State’s west campus, then proceed south on North Star Road, west on Ridgeview Road, south on Brandon Road, and west on Northam Road to Northwest Boulevard.
Plans also include two above-ground utility stations: a replacement facility on Brandon Road and a new station on Ridgeview Road.
Columbia Gas said it will mail construction notices, hold public meetings, and maintain office hours to keep residents informed before and during the work.
