$13 million sewer project in S. Carolina on track for April 2025 completion

Berkeley County’s Red Bank Road Gravity Sewer Project in Goose Creek has made significant progress in recent weeks, with a tentative substantial completion date of April 2025.

The goal of this project is to increase sewer capacity and prevent sewer overflows by installing a large gravity sewer main along Red Bank Road between Sunrise Boulevard and Henry E. Brown Jr. Boulevard.

After experiencing significant delays, the County has hired new contractors, Palmetto Site Works and Sanders Brothers Construction, to complete the project.  They are currently in the process of removing the old, existing curb line along the Red Bank Road corridor. They are also milling and grading the road along the curb line in preparation for resurfacing the road.

All curbing and milling work is expected to be complete by mid- to late-February, allowing resurfacing work to begin. Resurfacing will be the final leg of the project, anticipated for completion in April 2025.

Construction on the Red Bank Road Gravity Sewer Project began in spring 2022. Cost of the project is approximately $13 million.
