TC Energy delays equity sale in 15,000-mile Canadian gas pipeline systems to Indigenous partnership

(WO) – On Sep. 10, TC Energy Corporation announced it is delaying the sale of a minority stak in its NGTL Foothills gas pipeline systems to an Indigenous-owned investment partnership.

According to TC Energy, the deal has been delayed due to an identified transaction structuring issue within the NGTL partnership.

TC Energy says it is focused on developing a transaction that delivers meaningful distributions to Indigenous communities while upholding the fundamental value of the NGTL System and the Foothills Pipeline assets.

In July, the company said the partnership will enable up to 72 Indigenous communities to become equity owners in the 25,000-km (15,534 miles), highly integrated network of natural gas infrastructure assets spanning western Canada.
