Lane reductions begin on 6th Street in Lawrence, Kan., for sewer work
6/13/2024
(UI) — Traffic was reduced to one lane in each direction on June 12 on 6th Street between Monterey Way and Eldridge Street for storm sewer replacement.
As part of the ongoing 6th Street improvements project, crews discovered a void under the street requiring the replacement of approximately 80 feet of storm sewer.
Traffic will flow head-to-head in this area until the project is completed. The city expects the traffic control measures to remain in place until July 15, 2024, weather permitting.
