Bruceville-Eddy city officials approve first-ever sanitary sewer system
(UI) — According to KCEN-TV, the city council of Bruceville-Eddy, located in Texas, has approved its first-ever sanitary sewer system after over a decade of planning.
Announced on July 25, this decision marks the end of a process that began in 2008, involving extensive planning and collaboration with various stakeholders.
The new sewer system will replace outdated on-site wastewater treatment systems and is expected to enhance both infrastructure and environmental sustainability in the community. The project, with a budget just under $20 million, will be funded through a combination of loans and grants, with the USDA Rural Development Office playing a key role, according to KCEN-TV.
Construction is set to start in late summer or early fall 2024 and is anticipated to take about a year. During this period, residents should expect increased activity and are advised to stay patient. An informational session will be held in the fall to address community concerns.
