Pipeline industry veteran Mark Roberts passes away at 75
(UI) – On Feb. 2, Louisiana Pipeliners Association founder, Mark Roberts, passed away. A well known and respected member of the pipeline industry, Mark belonged to several U.S. pipeline associations. Mark founded the Louisiana Pipeliners Association in over two decades ago with friends Nicky Smith, Gary Giordano and others.
Mark has been active in the pipeline industry for 25 years with near perfect attendance. Under his leadership, the Association raised and awarded over $2 million in scholarships to hundreds of students since its founding. Alongside his work with the Association, Mark also worked alongside the Woodson Family, assisting them in becoming a leader in shallow water pipelines along the Gulf Coast.
Mark Roberts is remembered by the pipeline industry as a generous, grateful and faithful man. He is survived by his wife, four children (two biological and two stepchildren,) seven grandchildren, and several members of extended family.
