HD Hyundai expands excavator line with new 82-ton, 100-ton models

(UI) — HD Hyundai Construction Equipment North America has introduced two new large-frame excavators to its HX crawler excavator lineup: the 82-ton HX800A L and the 100-ton HX1000A L. These models are built to handle demanding earthmoving, mining, and quarrying tasks, offering robust power and performance for high-volume operations.

The HX800A L is powered by a 528-horsepower engine, while the HX1000A L boasts a 620-horsepower engine. Both models can be customized with different boom and arm configurations to match the specific material being excavated. The HX800A L supports buckets ranging from 4.5 to 7 cubic yards, while the HX1000A L accommodates buckets between 7 and 8.9 cubic yards.

“These heavy-duty Hyundai excavators are engineered to deliver peak performance in mines, quarries, and large-scale construction projects,” Joe Hodges, product manager of HD Hyundai CE North America, said. “Both machines were built to ensure maximum productivity while reducing total cost of ownership.”

The excavators also feature selectable power modes and an electronic power-optimizing system, allowing operators to adjust machine power and efficiency. The HX800A L is equipped with a smart power control system that monitors real-time performance data, automatically adjusting engine power and hydraulic flow for optimal results.

Both models are designed with operator safety and comfort in mind, featuring Level 2 FOPS protection, advanced vibration-damping mounts, and Hyundai’s All-Around View Monitoring (AAVM) camera system, which provides a 360-degree view of the worksite. An 8-inch touchscreen monitor offers easy access to control menus and settings.

The HX800A L and HX1000A L come with Hyundai’s industry-leading warranty and include five years of unlimited access to Hyundai’s Hi MATE fleet management system.
