Clark County, Wash. probing businesses to clean stormwater catch basins

(UC) — As part of the Catch Basin Cleanout Program, Clark County Public Works is looking for quotations from companies that can clean stormwater catch basins that are privately owned.

The program is meant to make it simpler for catch basin owners to carry out routine maintenance that safeguards the integrity of the water supply and publicly owned stormwater infrastructure, The Columbian reported. The chosen vendor will collaborate with the county and city of Camas to provide flat-rate catch basin cleanings.

During inspections of privately owned catch basins, county and city employees will exchange information regarding the program. Catch basin owners can sign up to have their basins cleaned at the quoted rate via the county’s website at clark.wa.gov/public-works/catch-basin-cleanout-program.

The complete request for quotes is available on the county’s website at clark.wa.gov/public-works/stormwater. Submit responses via email to eric.lambert@clark.wa.gov or by mail to Clark County Clean Water, PO Box 5000, Vancouver, WA 98666-5000. Responses are due by noon Dec. 7.
