UCT Moves to Late Spring
Houston, TX, Oct. 1 – With the uncertainty surrounding first quarter 2021 tradeshows, Underground Construction magazine’s Underground Construction Technology International Conference & Exhibition (UCT) has shifted its date from late January to May 18-20 at the Music City Center in Nashville. UCT focuses on trenchless and open-cut installation and rehabilitation technologies for the underground utility infrastructure industry.
“Current restrictions on in-person meetings, coupled with companies experiencing travel bans were among many contributing factors we considered when discussing changing the conference date,” said Conference Director Karen Francis. “After several meetings with the Music City Center, we decided to reschedule UCT to a much safer time that will allow the full functionality and benefits of a face-to-face event.
“We will of course abide by whatever health and safety protocols are in place, making UCT a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone,” she added.
“Conversations with many exhibitors revealed they were relieved and even excited that we are making the change and view the move as coming at a time when people will be more than ready to see each other and get back to work;” Francis pointed out.
Starting off the 2021 UCT conference will be a pre-show workshop on Inflow and Infiltration, plus a series of trenchless technology training schools hosted by CUIRE at the University of Texas at Arlington.
UCT will provide attendees with timely information and real-world case histories that directly and indirectly impact the underground utility infrastructure. Education tracks include sewer, water, horizontal directional drilling, and much more. The entire program qualifies for Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
“All things considered, we’ve had a tremendous response in terms of educational program involvement from all industry segments,” observed Robert Carpenter, UCT program director and editor-in-chief, Underground Construction. “As always, providing the industry’s best education and information are the foremost goals of UCT and we feel confident that the 2021 program – especially in May – will more than deliver on that legacy.”
Underground Construction magazine serves the water, sewer, gas distribution, electric, pipeline and telecom industries with the latest news, products, project case studies and regulation updates relevant to the underground industry.
UCT and Underground Construction are produced and managed by Gulf Energy Information, a leading provider of media, marketing and market intelligence services to the international energy industry.
