The Underground Construction Technology (UCT) International Conference & Exhibition returns to Fort Worth, Texas, in January. Hosted by Underground Construction magazine, UCT is the premier annual event for professionals employed in the underground utility/pipeline construction and rehabilitation industries.

UCT is the ideal venue for networking with like-minded professionals, making new connections and securing new business. Strategically timed to take place before the start of the infrastructure construction season, UCT features the industry’s benchmark accredited educational program, which allows delegates to accrue a significant portion of their annual Professional Development Hours/Continuing Education Units in one setting.

The educational program is designed to meet the needs of multiple industry sectors, with tracks dedicated to Horizontal Directional Drilling; Pipe Bursting; Sewer Construction and Rehabilitation; Lateral Rehabilitation; Manhole Rehabilitation; Emerging Technologies in Sewer/Water; Underground Utilities Construction; Asset Management; and more.

Tom Kula, executive director & general manager of the North Texas Municipal Water District, will deliver the conference’s opening keynote address: The Future of Water & Wastewater in North Texas. Kula serves on the Board of Directors of the Texas Water Conservation Association, National Waterways Conference, John Bunker Sands Wetland Center, North Texas Commission and as a member of the Region C Water Planning Group.

Fiona Allen, regional manager for the Trinity River Authority of Texas (TRA), will deliver the day two keynote. Allen oversees the Northern Region of the TRA, the conservation and reclamation district that provides water from reservoir facilities, water and wastewater treatment, along with recreation and reservoir facilities, within the nearly 18,000-square-mile Trinity River basin.

New this year is a pre-show I&I Conference dedicated to exploring problems and solutions of stopping the leading killer of sewer and water pipes: infiltration and inflow. Headlining the conference will be a special speaker from the EPA.

In addition to the educational program, the exhibit hall will once again host the RehabZone™ – an interactive exhibit-within-an exhibit examining the evolution of current underground infrastructure and technologies. Complete with a museum-quality historical display, the ‘Zone also includes live demonstrations and hands-on opportunities focused on trenchless rehabilitation, including innovative technologies and installation techniques.

To maximize municipal public works attendance at this critical industry event, UCT has also created a Municipal Partnership Program. Municipal public works attendees are eligible for complimentary attendance for UCT’s core program.
