5/1/2018

The Kentucky Communications Network Authority (KCNA) and Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU) have reached an agreement to lease a portion of OMU’s broadband network to KentuckyWired, a broadband project that includes the construction of more than 3,000 miles of fiber optic cable across all 120 Kentucky counties.
According to a statement issued by KCNA Executive Director Phillip Brown last month, construction of the network is ongoing with 735 miles of fiber optic cable currently deployed.
The project is expected to be placed in service in mid-2020.
