API: New Source Review Memorandum Offers Needed Infrastructure Permitting Clarity
The American Petroleum Institute (API) today released a statement praising the release of EPA’s memorandum on existing New Source Review (NSR) regulations.
“EPA’s practical clarification to the language in the NSR regulations is a positive step that will help reduce uncertainty in the permitting process, while protecting public health,” API’s Senior Director of Regulatory and Scientific Affairs Howard Feldman. “Balanced, effective NSR regulations allow our industry to invest in new facilities and energy infrastructure in ways that improve environmental performance.”
According to API, streamlining infrastructure permitting can help obtain more than a trillion dollars in private sector investments, critical to ensuring that Americans can continue to benefit from increased production and use of the energy to meet the needs of a dynamic and growing economy.
