$32 Million Awarded for Texas Sewer, Water Projects

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) today approved more than $32 million in financial assistance from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and the Clean Water State Revolving Fund for the following pipeline construction projects:
- $17.03 million from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the city of Stephenville. The city will use the financial assistance to make improvements to its eastside sewer project and extend sewer lines from the wastewater treatment plant toward the city airport and along the U.S. Highway 281 corridor.
$7.78 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the River Acres Water Supply Corporation. The corporation will use part of the financial assistance to replace water lines.
$5.23 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund and the Clean Water State Revolving Fund to the Valley Municipal Utility District No. 2. The district will use the financial assistance to replace approximately 9,600 linear feet of water lines within the system to help reduce water loss and improve water distribution system efficiency. - $2 million from the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund to the city of Kirbyville. The city will use part of the financial assistance to replace water lines.
The TWDB administers cost-effective financial assistance programs for the construction of water supply, wastewater treatment, flood control, and agricultural water conservation projects.
