American Water’s Stanford to Deliver Keynote Address at Mid-Atlantic Reuse Workshop

American Water’s Dr. Ben Stanford, senior director, Water Research and Development, has been selected to deliver the keynote address at the Mid-Atlantic Reuse Workshop on August 23 in Fairfax, Va.  During the keynote address, Stanford will discuss the “national perspective on potable reuse – regulatory barriers and successes.”

The Water Environment & Reuse Foundation and Water Research Foundation are hosting this one-day workshop focusing on the state of the science of potable reuse – particularly as it pertains to the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Presenters will explore the unique regional drivers for water reuse in the mid-Atlantic, including a panel discussion on the path forward for potable reuse along the East Coast.

“This workshop is a significant step forward in terms of water reuse options in the Mid -Atlantic region of the U.S.,” said Stanford. “Water reuse provides a way for us to use our resources sustainably, ensuring long term water supply reliability and safety for our customers. We believe it is important for regulators, engineers, and the water community to be actively engaged in the development of a range of water supply options including recycled water.”
