North Carolina Town Under Boil Advisory Due to Water Leak
7/11/2017
EDENTON, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina town is under a boil water advisory because of a water leak.
WITN-TV reports officials in Edenton are telling residents to boil water at least through noon Wednesday.
According to the town, the water main leak on West Queen Street at Filbert’s Creek has led to low water pressure throughout the system. Workers isolated the leak on Monday.
Because of the low pressure, there’s an increased chance of bacteria getting into the system.
Residents and businesses have been advised to boil water for 1 minute before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation. People can also use bottled water.
Tests are being conducted.
