ECI Upgrades Rainier Connect's Optical Transport Network to 100G
ECI® has successfully upgraded Rainier Connect’s optical transport network to 100G using the company’s Apollo family of products.
The project was funded in part, by the Rural Utilities Service, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture that administers programs providing infrastructure or infrastructure improvements to rural communities via public-private partnerships . These include water and waste treatment, electric power and telecommunications services requiring equipment vetted by the U.S. government.
“We assessed many companies in search for a partner that provided a flexible platform to meet our needs for the next several years,” Ben Miller, Network Operations Manager at Rainier Connect said. “We chose ECI for its state-of-the-art products and their reputable service. Once we initiated our project, the implementation and deployment went smoothly.”
The ECI Apollo family of products offer state-of-the-art, transparent and flexible DWDM transport with integrated packet services. Apollo combines high-performance, low-latency OTN transport, with software configurable optical switching, for maximum efficiency. Rainier Connect’s network architecture now includes 100G interfaces, multi-degree ROADM capabilities and can scale up to 88 channels, all of which are easily and intuitively managed via ECI’s LightSOFT® network management system.
