Tidewater Utilities, Inc.’s water and wastewater operators were recognized for their outstanding performances at a Delaware Technical and Community College ceremony earlier this month.  The ceremony recognized deserving water and wastewater operators, on-site professionals, and the role they played in protecting and creating a healthy environment for the citizens of Delaware.

Those recognized include:

Thomas Herholdt received the Allen J. Williams Lifetime Achievement Award for his 40+ years of dedication and service in the water and wastewater industry.   Herholdt retired from Tidewater in February 2017.

Tidewater’s Northern District Operators were nominated for the Water/Wastewater Professionals Team Award for their quick response in bringing one of their troubled contract operation plants back into regulatory compliance.

Alexis Virdin-Gede was named Delaware Water Operator of the Year in recognition of the excellence she delivers on a daily basis as a Compliance Manager in Water Quality.  Linda Little was also nominated for the award due to her support of facilities and expertise in the compliance field.

Gloria Lefchick and James Taylor of Tidewater’s Central District were nominated for the Delaware Wastewater Operator of the Year Award.

“I continue to be proud of the Tidewater team for their unwavering dedication in ensuring high quality water and wastewater service to our customers in Delaware,” said Gerard L. Esposito, President of Tidewater Utilities.  “Over the years, Tidewater’s operators have received more recognition than any other operating team.  It is a well deserved honor.”
