New Jersey American Water Invests $3.6 Million in Water Infrastructure
Over the next several months, New Jersey American Water will invest $3.6 million in water infrastructure improvement projects across the state.
On Dec. 8, work began to install roughly 160 feet of new ductile iron main along Mountain Parkway, from Route 22 to Wickett Avenue, in Green Brook Township. This project will also include interconnecting the main along Mountain Parkway at the intersections of Greenbrook Road, Route 22, Wickett Avenue and Blue Hills Terrace.
In North Plainfield, a two-phase construction project expected to conclude in the Spring of 2017 is also underway. During the first part of this improvement project, New Jersey American Water will be replacing service lines from the main in the street to the curb box as well as installing meter pits at the curb area of each property along the route. After installation, all that will be visible is a 15-inch circular cover that will be flush with the ground. In the spring of 2017, New Jersey American Water will continue this project by cleaning and lining water mains. Temporary restoration work will be completed as the project progresses. Final lawn restoration will also occur in the spring of 2017, and final paving will be completed after the cleaning and lining of the mains are completed.
