UCT Aims to Impress in Fort Worth
Underground Construction magazine’s Underground Construction Technology International Conference & Exhibition (UCT) returns to Fort Worth, Texas., Tuesday, Jan. 25 through Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022. Known for being the first major business event of the year for the underground utility infrastructure industry, UCT is also the most comprehensive, covering both trenchless and open-cut aspects.
UCT is the only conference where attendees receive a well-rounded look at the equipment, products, technologies and services needed for the installation and rehabilitation of the underground utility infrastructure. There’s a program track or session for almost everyone.
Through engaging panel discussions and interactive presentations, prominent industry experts will offer realistic approaches to job-site challenges. The primary UCT program qualifies for Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs), reviewed and granted by the University of Texas at Arlington.
The application of related equipment and technologies will be displayed and explained in the exhibit hall, providing in-depth understanding of what was discussed during the educational sessions.
Exchange ideas with like-minded underground utility professionals and increase your business connections during the many networking opportunities. Functions in the works include TopGolf, the MVP luncheon, exhibit hall lunches, HDD Reunion and other activities which will be continuously updated via Underground Construction and UCTonline.com.
Attend UCT and get the latest insight and skills needed to install, maintain and rehabilitate underground utility piping systems. Learn more about the program on the next few pages.
Let’s get back to business!

Modern Rehab for Modern Times
The Rehabzone™ is the original, hands-on, interactive educational exhibit for the sewer and water industry that takes place annually at UCT. Covering nearly 10,000 square feet, it’s dedicated to providing attendees with a comprehensive look at modern rehab methods via a self-paced, walk-through display in the UCT exhibit hall. Stations are staffed, at all times, by industry professionals who present objective, generic information, without selling or promoting individual brands or products. New this year will be the addition of the Assessment Zone.
A favorite since its launch in 2002, the RehabZone is focused on trenchless rehabilitation, including innovative technologies, installation techniques and live demonstrations. A fun component is the Cutter Challenge. How fast can you reinstate a lateral? Enter the challenge and find out; you could win a cash prize! Experience is not necessary; you can practice before competing. Details will follow next month. The RehabZone is included with your UCT registration.
The RehabZone is funded by sponsoring organizations and participating companies. Donations are always welcome for this unique rehabilitation industry event. Contact David J. Hill, RehabZone Chairman at dhill@sakcon.com for sponsorships and the opportunity to perform live demonstrations.
A special thank you is in order to the 2021 RehabZone committee and volunteers. Their unwavering commitment during several date changes and reduced production time, made the 2021 RehabZone possible. Thank you for your dedication to educating our industry!
Exhibiting At UCT
Building strategic partnerships, introducing new equipment and technologies and, of course, networking are the top reasons for exhibiting at UCT. Did you know that the booth fee includes the main educational program? Unlike many conferences, UCT does not charge extra for booth staff registration or the main education program (number of passes are based on booth size). And education sessions take place in the morning (Tuesday and Wednesday), while the Exhibit Hall is open in the afternoons, so there’s no conflict between staffing your booth and attending technical sessions.
This added bonus is an opportunity to forge new business relationships and January is the perfect time, as construction is not in full swing.
What Makes UCT Valuable?
- Quality attendees
- Business-oriented trade show
- Trenchless and open-cut technologies are represented
- Timing – UCT is early in the year before the height of the construction season!
Why Exhibit at/Sponsor UCT?
- Reach key decision makers
- Promote equipment and services
- Reinforce customer relationships
- Product/equipment introductions
- Identify supplier opportunities
Brand awareness begins with UCT promoting your participation, at no additional cost to you, through our sister publications, Underground Construction, Pipeline & Gas Journal and Pipeline News. Promoting your participation extends to the conference website, email campaigns and targeted e-newsletters.
At-show networking begins at the registration desk, continues in the exhibit hall and concludes daily at one of the receptions or hosted parties. Booth space is available now. Contact Karen Francis at kfrancis@UCTonline.com for more information.
