Pevey Joins ARA Board of Directors 

Scott Pevey, senior manager of brand management and marketing for Ditch Witch, American Augers/Trencor and Subsite Electronics, has been named as associate member director of the American Rental Association. 

During the two-year term, he will represent the perspective of equipment manufacturers and suppliers as he and other board members oversee the association and its programs implemented by ARA staff. 

His previous experience with the association includes serving its Exhibitor Advisory Council and most recently as a trustee of the ARA Foundation board. In addition, he has provided marketing assistance to help support industry groups, such as AEM, AED, PCCA, DCA and NUCA. 

Headquartered in Moline, Ill., ARA is an international trade association for owners of equipment and event rental businesses, and the manufacturers and suppliers of construction/industrial, general tool and party/event rental equipment. Its more than 11,000 rental businesses, and 1,000-plus manufacturers and suppliers are located in every U.S. state and more than 40 countries worldwide.

Hyundai Welcomes Matt Brown as District Sales Manager-West 

Matt Brown has joined Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas Inc. as district sales manager, responsible for assisting Hyundai dealers across the Western region of the U.S. 

Originally from Calhoun, Ga., Brown has more than 11 years of varied territory sales experience, most recently as a regional sales manager for another construction OEM. 

Based in Norcross, Ga., HCEA offers a full line of wheel loaders; crawler excavators, ranging from compact models to mass excavators; wheeled excavators; compaction equipment; and hydraulic breakers.

Brown & Caldwell 

Heather Dodson, P.E., LEED, is the new leader of the Pittsburgh office for Walnut Creek, Calif.-based, environmental engineering and construction firm Brown and Caldwell. In this role, she is responsible for expanding the firm’s regional presence and talent pool to meet market and customer needs in the Northeast’s municipal and private water, wastewater, and stormwater sector. 

With 17 years of experience in design and permitting, land development, and municipal engineering, Dodson brings a wealth of knowledge and technical expertise to the states’ and region’s most complex water and environmental challenges. 

Marc Damikolas, P.E., was promoted from director of operations to chief operating officer, based in Irvine, Calif. He now oversees ongoing operations and procedures, while implementing business strategies and plans to drive the 1,700 employee-owned firm’s sustainable growth. 

During his 20-year career at the firm, he has exhibited expertise in the capture, planning, design, and construction of numerous, high-profile municipal and private sector water and wastewater infrastructure projects in California and throughout the U.S. 

Sachin Gajwani, P.E., joined the firm as vice president and client service director, responsible for pursuing and leading the quality delivery of utility projects for the water, wastewater, and stormwater sector, that positively impacts clients’ long-term goals, and drives new client growth. 

With 24 years of experience and knowledge in New York’s water infrastructure market, he has positioned for, captured and successfully delivered numerous high-profile, multi-million-dollar projects and programs, such as major wastewater treatment plant upgrades, construction of large-scale water conveyance systems, and resiliency preparedness and planning improvements at water and wastewater facilities. 

 

Bowman Consulting 

Ryan Safford joined Bowman Consulting, headquartered in Reston, Va., as principal at the Dallas office. 

Safford has more than 18 years – including 15 years with Kimley-Horn – of project management experience, providing site civil consulting services for multi-family, retail, commercial mixed-use, hospitality, healthcare, and office development projects. His expertise includes entitlements, zoning, special use permitting, construction administration and design of grading, drainage, roadways, as well as public and private utilities. 

Kevin Smith Named General Manager of Toro’s Ditch Witch Division 

Kevin Smith was named general manager of the Toro Company’s Ditch Witch Division, tasked with expanding the division by combining its business with that of Subsite Electronics, American Augers and Trencor into one organization, selling its products primarily through the worldwide Ditch Witch dealer channel. 

Smith has a proven track record in the underground construction industry. He spent 20 years in the Ditch Witch organization gaining experience in manufacturing, product development, research and development, sales, market development, product management and in direct sales with the dealer organization. 

From there, he served as president of MTI Equipment for seven years, where he expanded the brand’s presence in the used HDD equipment segment. In 2015, he began leading the Subsite Electronics and HammerHead businesses, where his leadership was instrumental in driving profitable growth for both brands and in developing HammerHead’s repair and rehabilitation strategy for the underground utility markets. 

Based in Perry, Okla., the company designs, manufactures and markets the most complete line of directional drills, drill pipe, HDD tooling, Underground Awareness electronics, vacuum excavators, trenchers, surface miners, fluid recycling systems, chain, teeth and sprockets, stand-on skid steers and vibratory plows.
