Informative Seminars and Innovative Equipment Await UCT Attendees

Underground Construction Technology (UCT) returns to the Fort Worth Convention Center in Fort Worth, Texas, Monday, Jan. 24 with the pre-UCT kick-off of CUIRE Schools. The main UCT program runs Tuesday, Jan. 25–Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022.

Taking place before the height of construction season, UCT is the first major business event of the year for busy underground utility professionals. The main program showcases a wide range of innovative technologies and equipment in the exhibit hall.

The equally comprehensive education program is filled with inspirational presentations organized into targeted tracks, such as Asset Management, Microtunneling, HDD, Power and Gas Utilities, Women in Utilities, NASSCO Sewer Operations, and more. The entire education program qualifies for Professional Development Hours (PDHs) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs), granted by The University of Texas at Arlington.

Attend UCT and you will experience industry-leading seminars that include case histories, lessons learned and panel discussions designed to help you navigate job-site and business-related challenges. Sessions are led by industry experts who will provide actionable, real-world takeaways that can be applied immediately in the field.

Your search for quality equipment and emerging technologies used for the installation and rehabilitation of the underground utility infrastructure ends in the UCT exhibit hall. You’ll see familiar exhibitors and new ones, offering products and services to maximize productivity and profitability. For ease of networking, the annual welcome reception will be held in the exhibit hall, so you can stay close to the people, equipment
and technologies you need to see.

From trenchless to open-cut technologies and services,
UCT has something for just about everyone in the underground utility market. The following pages highlight the UCT experience. See the full program, secure your hotel room and register at UCTonline.com.

We can’t wait to see you at UCT in January!

UCT Highlights

The following pages are an introduction to the UCT experience. For complete details, please visit UCTonline.com.

RehabZone Offers Interactive Experiences

RehabZone™ is the interactive area of the exhibit hall, focusing on the history of trenchless rehabilitation, and highlighting innovative and emerging technologies, through live demonstrations and skills competitions. New for 2022 is Rehab Rodeo, two days of trivia competitions and happy hours.

Produced in cooperation with the National Association of Sewer Service Companies (NASSCO), Underground Construction magazine, ASCE’s Utility Engineering & Surveying Institute (UESI) and the Water Environment Federation’s Collection System Committee, the “Zone” is funded by sponsoring organizations and participating companies.

The RehabZone exhibition is included with your UCT registration.

Unwind and Rewind at the HDD Reunion

The HDD Reunion and Hall of Fame reception return to UCT 2022. For those who do not know, this event looks back at the history of the horizontal directional drilling (HDD) market, from the boom in the 1990s through today, and celebrates the comradery that is HDD.

Share experiences and swap stories at the 2022 HDD Reunion, on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 4:45 p.m.,
after the exhibit hall closes. We will also induct Frank Canon (Baroid) and John Hair (J. D. Hair & Associates) into the HDD Hall of Fame.

The event is for everyone in the HDD industry: contractors, owners, engineers and manufacturers, at all stages of their careers; retirees; and newcomers to the market.

Tickets for the reception are $25 with your UCT registration. (The rate is slightly higher if you are not attending UCT). Register at UCTonline.com.

Specialty Training

The learning starts early at UCT with specialty training hosted by The Center for Underground Infrastructure Research & Education (CUIRE), at the University of Texas at Arlington. The 20th annual Pipeline and Trenchless Technology Training and Certification Schools include Advanced HDD, Pipe, and half-day Microtunneling/Pilot Tube and SAPL Schools.

New for 2022 is the two-part “Geotechnical Site Investigation and Planning for New Trenchless Technology Installation School.” It provides information on common trenchless methods and supporting geotechnical investigations and is highly recommended for owners, permitting agencies/consultants, engineers and contractors seeking to gain a basic understanding of trenchless applications and methods used for subsurface characterization.

This school is intended as a precursor to the CUIRE HDD, pilot tube and microtunneling schools. For details and to register, please contact CUIRE at (817) 272-9177, cuire@uta.edu or visit uta.engineering/cuireschools.
